ABOUT US

We are Kirk and Trudy Harrold, a husband and wife partnership, operating FocalPoint Photography from our home on a family farm near Lamont, Alberta, Canada. Both of us have been making photographic images for over 25 years. Primarily self-taught, our photographic skills have been honed by coursework and experience. Our combined interests  include nature photography; theatre, résumé, and art photography; and custom/corporate images. We are located within an hour’s drive of Edmonton, which allows us to be fluent in both rural and urban settings.

Our personal backgrounds contribute to a distinctive style in both the creation of images and in our business. Kirk’s agriculture and science background influences his eye for detail in the nature work, while his training in musical theatre gives him a broad understanding of the stage. Trudy uses her education and communications/publishing background in the planning, organization and presentation of projects.

We specialize in location photography. As such, we bring our equipment, skill, experience, and friendly style to our clients’ choice of location. It is important to us to collaborate with our clients to produce images that are meaningful.
